Trump says he’ll ‘immediately’ appeal a federal judge’s ruling to block $2.5 billion in border wall funds

Associated Press/Evan Vucci President Donald Trump is vowing to appeal a judge's ruling that says his administration cannot take $2.5 billion in funds intended for anti-drug activities and use it to build a wall along the Mexican border. A U.S. District Court judge ruled that the transfer of the money was unlawful. Trump declared a national emergency in February and moved to divert $6.7 billion in funds approved for other purposes so the money could be used for the wall. Twenty states and several advocacy groups sued to stop the move. Visit Business Insider's home page for more stories. The solo marathon

The usual marathons, the popular ones, are done in a group. They have a start time. A finish line. A way to qualify. A route. A crowd. And a date announced a year in advance. Put on your sneakers, run out the door and come back 26 miles later. These are rare. It’s worth noting that much of what we do in creating a project, launching a business or developing a career is a lot closer to the second kind of marathon. No wonder it’s so difficult.

As a fashion writer, I read through these figures every day, and they are staggering to me. McKinsey reported the world tipped over into manufacturing  100 billion articles of clothing  annually in 2014. (Consider that there are only 7 billion humans that inhabit the Earth.) The Ellen MacArthur Foundation, a sustainability nonprofit, says that the average number of times that a garment is worn before it stops being used has gone down by 36% over the last 15 years, and many consumers wear items less than 10 times before they chuck them out. There are nights I’m sure I’m asleep before my head hits the pillow. As a working mother, I remember writing my book with my first baby crawling around the floor of our home office. These days, I comanage both our business and home with my husband, while continually striving to be present with our young son and daughter each day. I’m sure many of you relate all too well to the feeling of never having enough time . Read Full Story
