Viral app hit FaceApp, which makes users look old, has privacy concerns

Your original photos are uploaded to FaceApps servers–and no one knows what the company does with them.

If you’ve been anywhere near social media for the last few weeks you’ve probably seen people posting photos of themselves, but aged to make them look 60, 70, or older. Those photos come from an app called FaceApp, which uses artificial intelligence to age people. The app has actually been around for a few years but only recently gotten attention from the internet at large.

The demonstrations were sparked by US attacks on a militia in Iraq and Syria Sunday, in which 25 were killed. Supporters of Shia militias in Iraq have stormed the US embassy in Baghdad, setting fire to a guard tower and reception area, according to reports.  An Associated Press reporter at the scene reported seeing flames rise from inside the compound, and at least three US soldiers on its roof.
