- Raheem Sterling has been dropped from England's next match after reportedly grabbing the throat of his teammate Joe Gomez.
- According to Sky Sports, Sterling walked up to Gomez in the England canteen on Monday, grabbed his neck, and said "you think you're the big man now?"
- The pair had clashed a day prior when their two clubs met in the Premier League.
- "One of the great challenges and strengths for us is that we've been able to separate club rivalries from the national team," Southgate said in an official statement. "Unfortunately the emotions of yesterday's game were still raw."
